Due to the forecasted weather for this morning (& today) we are going to postpone our WE Staff Car Parade to tomorrow, Saturday April 4th at 1:00pm. We will use all of the same notes/information sent out previously with the updated date/time. Thank you for your flexibility, we are really looking forward to seeing you all!
We are SO excited for the first-ever Waukee Elementary Staff Car Parade this Friday, April 3rd! Waukee Elementary Staff will be in their cars parading through our school neighborhoods to spread joy and give love to students and families by honking and waving from a safe distance!
Our parade route is attached below in two parts, due to the distance we cover north to south. (Please be sure to view both photos.) You will notice that the route travels to all parts of the Waukee Elementary boundary, but does not cover every street/house. If the parade doesn’t pass directly by your home, we hope you are able to make it to a nearby location along the route to watch. Please do be mindful of social distancing from others. Thank you!
The parade begins at 9:00am leaving from Waukee Elementary headed west on Northview Drive. While exact times are hard to predict, we believe it will take around 1.5 hours to complete the route. We would love to see lots of WE students and families smiling and waving back from driveways, porches, and sidewalks!
Can't wait to see you at the parade!
Students in Mrs. Bolten’s 2nd grade class made 6 tie blankets for the babies in the NICU. Parker and Collin were able to meet Mrs. Bolten at Blank to drop off the blankets and speak with the Child Life specialist about how they will be used!
We're so happy to have the Waukee Police Department and Waukee Fire Department join us for lunch on Fridays. This is a great opportunity for our students to build positive relationships with our community helpers.
We had an amazing day showcasing leadership at Waukee Elementary. Visitors participating in the Des Moines Leader in Me Symposium got to watch a Leadership Celebration, take a school tour, visit classrooms, stop by the sWEet Delights Coffee Shop, and hear from our awesome student leaders about all of the great things happening at our school. #WEare50263
Whether you’re looking for a volunteer opportunity, learn a new skill, or just a chance to make new friends, Waukee Community Education and our flyer distribution website, WaukeeBackpack, have plenty of options for you!
